a peek into munchkinland

Here's what the Wicked Witch of the West has been up to, when she wasn't teaching her sister from the East how to sew.

Well, I have to tell ya, sissy is a natural! The very first garment that she made, an A line dress, is amazing! It even makes her little girl spin faster!

As I am posting this, she is working on the second dress and says, "I could get hooked on this sewing thing." Yeah. I'm pretty sure she's hooked. But then, I'm pretty sure we had her at the cotton section at the fabric store.

a quick study

Teaching my sissy how to sew went quite well yesterday. A fast learner, she even wanted to go to the fabric store and get a pattern to try. We picked out an easy one and then took forever to pick out the fabric... (welcome to the world of creativity!)

making it official

I am now in the silhouette business. A ready-to-frame (approximately 8x10) silhouette in either traditional black/white or something more fun and funky - pink and green, aqua and blue, solid or something really fun, like damask paper... to match your color scheme... $25.

completely edible

Sewing a ruffle onto a pair of jeans was not my original idea. I will not take credit. I got the brillant project idea from my friend, Tori, who makes adorable outfits like this one all the time. Don't know if she copied the idea from someone else, or just what, but I love it!

I have had a pair of jeans picked out and set back to do this for awhile now. After finishing some mending, which had been waiting for a few months, I pulled the jeans out, went through my stash of fabric, and decided on the cupcakes.

Besides, my own sweet littlest cupcake will be turning 3 soon enough and she needs an oufit, right?

ps - There was material left over which just may have to find its way onto the cuff of a sleeve soon...
